Cleaning & dust maintenance

A 25-minute cleaning routine every 3–6 months keeps temperatures years-younger. Here's the safe way to do it.

   Power down and unplug

   Shut down, flip the PSU switch, unplug, and press the power button once to drain residual charge. Take the case somewhere you don't mind dust — outdoors or a garage is ideal.

   Filters first

   Slide out the dust filters (front, bottom, top) and rinse them under water or blow them clean. Fully dry before reinstalling.

   Blow out heatsinks and fans

   Short bursts of air through the CPU cooler fins, GPU fins, and PSU vents. Hold each fan still with a finger while blowing — free-spinning a fan with compressed air can damage its bearing and generate voltage.

   Careful: Hold the can upright; tilted cans spray freezing liquid propellant onto components.

4. 4

   Wipe and detail

   Microfiber for panels and glass, soft brush for stubborn dust in fan grilles and RAM slots. Never use household cleaners inside the case — dry or lightly isopropyl-damp cloth only.

5. 5

   Reassemble and verify

   Reinstall filters and panels, boot, and glance at temps. A good cleaning routinely drops load temperatures 5–10°C on a dusty machine.
